How to Recharge Another Person’s Number Online
Want to recharge your family member’s or friend’s mobile number? You can easily recharge any prepaid number from anywhere using online payment apps or operator websites. Here’s how to do it for each operator.
Method 1: Using Payment Apps (Works for All Operators)
Via Paytm
- Open Paytm → Tap “Mobile Recharge”
- Enter the mobile number you want to recharge
- Select operator (auto-detected)
- Choose a plan or enter amount
- Pay via UPI, wallet, or card
- Recharge is applied instantly
Via PhonePe
- Open PhonePe → “Mobile Recharge”
- Type the recipient’s number
- Select plan → Pay → Done
Via Google Pay (GPay)
- Open Google Pay → “Mobile Recharge”
- Enter number → Browse plans
- Select and pay via UPI

Tips for Recharging Others
- Always double-check the number before paying – recharges cannot be reversed
- Take a screenshot of the payment confirmation
- If recharge doesn’t apply within 5 minutes, contact the operator’s customer care
- You can set up auto-recharge for family members on Paytm and PhonePe
Note: You can recharge any prepaid number regardless of which operator you personally use. A Jio user can recharge an Airtel number and vice versa. There are no restrictions on cross-operator recharge.
